Listening and reading are scored out of 699 points, writing and speaking out of 20. One point under the threshold, and the lower level applies.

The minimums to know.
These are the minimum levels stated by IRCC for the Express Entry programs. Your results must be less than two years old when you complete your profile and when you apply.
These rules can change. Always check your program’s requirements on the IRCC website before you submit your file.
Category-based selection (IRCC)- Federal Skilled Worker Program
- CLB 7 in all four abilities
- Canadian Experience Class
- CLB 7 for TEER 0 or 1 jobs, CLB 5 for TEER 2 or 3 jobs
- Federal Skilled Trades Program
- CLB 5 for speaking and listening, CLB 4 for reading and writing
- “French-language proficiency” category
- Minimum of 7 in all four abilities
A level does not say what to do on Monday.
Your goal is set by your weakest test. If three tests are at the target level and only one is below, that one should take most of your sessions.
In comprehension, gaining points means holding on through the last questions. In expression, it means producing, getting feedback and starting again.
